Dimboola Inaugural Art Show 8th to 10th of November 2013
Welcome to the Dimboola Arts Inc Website
In its first year, the Dimboola Art Show is a new event which we envisage will attract artists from around Australia. The focus is on the Wimmera and is a superb opportunity for you to discover a diverse range of original art from the best local and national artists. It's an opportunity for the public to buy art from the best local and national artists and for artists to sell direct to the public, to make contacts and to build a relationship with buyers and potential buyers. We actively promote and celebrate art in the Wimmera area and beyond, showcasing artists and those who find it difficult to break into (or prefer to operate outside of) the gallery based art scene. The Wimmera is known for its big skies, wide open spaces and lakes. It is also known for its amazing fauna and flora , the Grampians and Mount Arapiles, the Little and Big Deserts. All of which are very popular destinations for rock climbers, artists, photographers and bush walkers and outdoor adventurers. |
The theme of the competition is the essence of the Wimmera. There are three main categories; Traditional, Contemporary and Sculptural. Within these main categories, artists have free reign to depict their creative impression of the Wimmera. Artists are encouraged to be innovative in their connection to the Wimmera.
Artists can depict the Wimmera through abstraction, realism, modernism, landscape, flora, fauna, found objects, mixed and interdisciplinary media. The committee, local artists and community want to share their rich art history with a wider Australian and International audience. The Dimboola Art Show would like to become a celebrated part of the Wimmera art scene. The Independent Judge Anthony Pelchen will be selecting from the wide range of artworks presented by artists both amateur and professional. The Dimboola Art Show is open to all Australian Artists. Artists can download the form HERE or go to Artist section for further information. |
