Dimboola Arts Inc Committee are proud to announce the Inaugural Dr Alister Hinchley Acquisitive Award $1000 1st Prize $750 ( Traditional, Contemporary and Sculptural) 2nd Prize $250 ( each category) Youth Artist prize $250 and a popular choice award in each category. |
Artwork on this website has been created through the Hindmarsh Shire Council Community Art Initiative, as a community mural project.
Artworks have been contributed from students at Dimboola Primary, Dimboola Memorial Secondary College, Dimboola and District Historical Society, Connect Ed, Dimboola Town Committee and Dimboola Painting and Sketching Group. Friday 8th of November Opening of Art Show Doors open to public 6pm. Venue : Dimboola A&P Society Pavilion in the Dimboola Recreation Reserve. Drinks and finger food will be provided. Local Barangaroo Boutique Wines. Entries will be judged prior to the Show opening by Anthony Pelchen Wining entries judged by Anthony Pelchen will be announced on opening night. Saturday 9th Exhibition open 9 am- 5pm. Dimboola community mural display Sunday 10th Exhibition open 9 am - 4 pm. Artists can collect work from 5 pm- 6pm. Gerang Gerung Market Monday 11th 9 am -5 pm Dimboola Arts Inc Committee members will be on site for Artist and courier service pick up. |
Art Show Judge Anthony Pelchen
Anthony Pelchen is a renowned artist in the multi disciplinary media of painting, drawing, photography, video, sculpture and installation. Since 2009 he has annually presented installations as part of the Melaka Art & Performance Festival (MAPFest) and in 2010 undertook a four month Asia-link residency outside of Kuala Lumpur. During his residency he initiated new venue relationships with the National University of Singapore and Heritage Trust of Malaysia, and has since curated the annual MAPFest visual arts program including Australian, Malaysian, and Singapore artists. In 2012 Anthony was short-listed for the Rick Amor Drawing Prize, and the Blake Prize. An exhibition of his recent works on paper will be presented at the Horsham Regional Art Gallery August-October 2013. Entries will be judged prior to opening by Anthony Pelchen. Wining entries judged by Anthony Pelchen will be announced on opening night. |
